My Relatives ...

                                            I belong to Kulathunkal branch of Pakalomattom Ayrookuzhiyil family.

                    "Go Ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature " -Mark 16 :15
                     Inspired by this command of the Lord ,St.Thomas ,one of the twelve disciples of Jesus
 Christ ,came to Kerala in AD 52.One of the four priestly Brahmin families who accepted the new faith
 was Pakalomattom . These families and their children down the line were subjected to much hardship 
by the Brahmin community ,and consequently they had towards South by the end of the 2nd centaury. 
Thus they came via Angamali , to Kuravilangad , near Ettumanoor in Kottayam district.Here they 
prospered and in course of time , spread to all parts of Southern Kerala. The High priest Eravi Kartan , was the first person who accepted the new faith in Pakalomattom family. Alapatt house in Kuravilangad is very prominent among the Pakalomattom descendants .
                             A handsome youth & silk cloth merchant from Pakalomattom Alapatt house , named 
Idicula reached the Royal Palace of Venad in 1680 A.D. Queen Maharani Umayamma honoured him with 
the title" Tharakan ",meaning noble merchant .As per the ancient customs ,an honoured person was a 
preferred guest of the Royal family .So Idiculla Tharakan lived in the palace during Umayamma 's rule till 1684 A.D. He the moved to a house in Malakkara called Ayrookuzhiyil .Afterwards he moved to Arattupuzha .The property in which he lived there is still known as Tharakan veedu .Later he shifted to Puthencavu and settled on the pampa river bank .Here he used the Malakkara house name 
' Ayrookuzhiyil '.Thus he became the Doyen of the great Ayrookuzhiyil Family which has now spread all over the world. I am the ninth generation of this family .

                 Idicula Tharakan (Senior) Ayrookuzhiyil Puthencavu had six sons .
                 Idicula Tharakan ( junior ), Arattupuzha was the eldest of them. He moved to nearby village in the East , Arattupuzha and settled there. He had six sons. 
                 Idiculla Tharakanveetil was the youngest of them and he lived in the family house of 
Tharakan veedu at Arattupuzha .
He had 3 sons - Cherian Kadavana , Arattupuzha ;
                        Idicula Abraham, Tharakan veedu,
                        Kucheria ,Arapurakal.

                 The eldest son Cherian Kadavana had 3 sons and one daughter -
                Idiculla Kulathumkal, Mathen Kadavana ,and Kandamma.
                From Idicula Kulathumkal begins the Kulathumkal or Kulathunkal or Kulathingal family. 

               Idicula Kulathumkal had two sons- Cherian Kulathumkal and Kuncheria Kulathumkal .
               Cherian Kulathumkal was a evangelist in Marthoma Sabha .He married Achiamma and had 
3 sons.    K.C .Idiculla ,Vadakkettu , Malakkara 
              K.C.Mathen ,Kulathunkal , Arattupuzha and
              K.C.Abraham ,Kulathunkal , Arattupuzha.

             Cherian Kulathumkal died in 1949.

             K.C. Idicula , Vadakettu ,Malakkara married Achamma (D/o Ommachen ,Manakuppiyil ,Edanadu) . They have 5 sons.
            K.I. Cherian ,Trivandrum ;K.I. Oommen ,Malakkara ;Late K.I. Mathew ,Trivandrum ;
            K.I. Abraham ,Malakkara and K.I .Daniel ,Trivandrum

K.I. Cherian is my grandfather. ( My father ,Dr.Abraham Cherian's father )
He is the seventh generation of Pakalomattom Ayrookuzhiyil family

He migrated to Trivandrum in early sixties and was working in LIC of India, Pattom , Trivandrum.

My father {babu} is the eldest of Mr.K.I Cherian's {Kunjunju} five children:
Abraham Cherian , George Cherian , {sunny} ,Sudha Oommen 
{suchi} ,Lali Philip {lachi} and Roy Cherian

George Cherian (Sunny ) B.Com( D.O.B-May 5 th) with his wife Daisy (D/o Mr . Abraham, Mathilunkal, Thiruvalla ) and two children, Vinu Cherian George and Jinu Abraham George
are in Kuwait.Vinu is in Std XI and Ginu is in VIth .They have a house in Kairali Nagar , Thirumala., 
Trivandrum.
         

         

Suchi and her husband Dr. Abraham Ommen (Sabu , S/o Avarachen, Aadangapurathu Kalamannil, 
Puramattom ,near Kumbanad and Eraviperoor) have 2 boys -Sudheep and Subin Abraham)
Sabu is a vetinary surgeon working at Thiruvalla.
Sudeep is doing B.Sc. Electronics and Computer Hardware at I H R D College at Mallappally and 
Subin is in III rd .
Suchi is working in Vetinerary health Dept. on Mallappally.

Lali and Philip Thomas (Thottunkal ,Thiruvalla ) have two girls : Minu Rachel Philip and Anu Sarah
 Philip. Philip is amanager in Canara bank, Kamuvinkode ,Balaramapuram and Lali is in SBT , NAC
 branch , Poojappura , Trivandrum.
Minu is doing Sem I-II B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engg at College Of Engg (CET) ,
Trivandrum.She got Kerala University Predegree II nd Rank in Women's College ,Tvm .She secured 
16 th rank in Kerala Engg Entrance and 20 th Rank in CUSAT CAT Engg Entrance in 2001.
She was the first Engg .Admission in Kerala State in 2001.  
and Anu is in Std VI th in Carmel G.H.School.

Roy is a Development Officer ,L.I.C of India, Chathanoor, Kollam , and is staying with his wife 
Jaya (Mulakuzha) at Mayyanad ,Kollam.

Mummy has only one brother, Mr. Satheesh Philip MBA, the one and only son of Mr. M.P.Philipose.Satish  was working in Madura Coats ,Madurai , Tamil Nadu. till 1997 and then in Hallmark Company ,Chennai ,as purchase manager . He is now working in Dr. M G R Engineering College , Chennai . He is lecturer in management studies and Personal Secretary to the Chairman. Satish married Mary Eapen (Kochumol ,S/o N.V.Eapen, Palakunnathu Neduvelil,Vazhoor ) in 1982 and they have two children. Savitha Susan Satish and Sanuj Satish Philip.
Savitha is doing her engineering in Electronics and Communication at Eshwari College of Engg.(S.R.M) ,
Chennai. Sanuj is in Std XI in Zion School ,Tambaram ,Chennai ,Tamil Nadu.
